MY STORY

Acupuncturist - OlyaHello,

My name is Olya (Olga). I am a Registered Acupuncturist in Victoria, BC. If you’re at my website, you might be seeking information if acupuncture can assist with your current condition and if I’m the right acupuncturist for you. My personal story can provide insight into who I am, and hopefully help establish the crucial trust between patient and practitioner.

Growing up in a family of physicists, I never envisioned becoming an acupuncturist. I soaked up throughout my childhood the importance of hard science. I graduated from high school and University with honours, and enjoyed a successful 20-year career in business.  However, after the birth of my second son, I faced a serious illness. The pain was always with me. I woke up with pain and went to bed with it. Seven years of endless hospitals, hopelessness, and desperation. I tried lots of options to cure myself in Europe and North America. My painkiller intake gradually increased. Pain suppressants masked my pain but my body still felt it. I was nearly without hope when I decided to try acupuncture. After the very first treatment, I felt a slight relief. I was enormously surprised. How was it possible without medication, with just with a couple of tiny needles? It was against every law that I was taught. My healing process had finally started!  In the end, Acupuncture was the only treatment that proved effective for me, and it completely resolved my pain.

The transformative impact of acupuncture motivated me so greatly that shifted my career to introduce the healing power of Chinese Medicine to the community.  I graduated from Pacific Rim College, in beautiful Victoria, BC. I am really grateful to my teachers, who not only conveyed the ancient knowledge, but also supported and healed me when needed.

My previous  background equipped me with skills such as problem-solving and effective self-study, essential for investigating ways to aid patients. I approach each patient as a unique individual, meticulously customizing treatment plans. Depending on their needs, I can apply gentle distant acupuncture or vigorous orthopedic approach. My areas of practice encompass pain management, digestive issues, women’s health, and emotional trauma support.

My genuine desire is to offer care to everyone who needs it through acupuncture. I firmly believe that regular acupuncture sessions, along with small adjustments in diet, lifestyle, and exercise, can lead to significant positive transformations in the body, regardless of age.
